Discover Walking, Horse Riding, Kayaking and Coastal Golf in Studland
Studland is best experienced outdoors. There are numerous walks in Studland, from gentle heathland loops to the iconic route to Old Harry Rocks. We often return to the cliff paths, wide views across Poole Bay and towards the Isle of Wight.
Kayaking from the Bay to Old Harry is something we’ve done several times. Calm conditions are essential, but paddling beneath the chalk stacks offers a completely different perspective. Horse riding across Studland Heath towards Agglestone Rock is another memorable way to explore.
For golfers, the Isle of Purbeck Golf Course is widely regarded as one of Dorset’s finest links courses. Opened in 1892, it offers panoramic sea views from several holes. A round here feels as much about the setting as the scorecard. In 1950, Enid Blyton and her husband, Kenneth Darrell Waters, bought the club, which she later featured in her book Five Have a Mystery to Solve.
