Knighton, a beautifully appointed, professionally interior-designed, lakeside luxury holiday home on the award-winning Silverlake Estate in Dorset. Knighton is perfect for large families, multi-generational groups and gatherings of friends. Sleeping up to 12 guests (maximum 10 adults and 2 children) in five bedrooms, this contemporary three-storey home offers comfort, tranquillity, and stunning views over the lake and surrounding nature reserve.

On the ground floor are are three bedrooms – a master bedroom with super-king bed and en-suite shower room, a king size bedroom with en-suite shower room and a twin bedroom. A family bathroom with shower over bath, and a fully equipped utility room with washer, dryer and tea/coffee making facilities for the ground floor bedrooms, are also situated on the ground floor.

The first floor is the main living accommodation which features a contemporary open plan kitchen/dining/living room with log burner, Sky Glass TV and Sonos sound system and air conditioning. The kitchen includes three integral ovens a large fridge/freezer, dishwasher and Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine – ideal for those who are looking to cook up a feast! Floor to ceiling windows offer wonderful views over the lake and sliding doors provide access to the balcony. A cloakroom is also available on this floor.

The second floor boasts a super-king bedroom with zip and link beds that can be separated into twins if required. Please advise at time of booking if you would prefer the beds to be prepared as separate singles. Also on this floor is a bunk room that sleeps four in two sets of bunk beds, a shower room and a separate snug/TV room – ideal for keeping the children safely entertained while adults catch up over drinks and nibbles! The snug also features air conditioning.

Outside there is a large enclosed decked area with dining furniture, relaxed seating and a gas BBQ available for guests to use. From this decked area a spiral staircase leads to the first floor balcony and main living areas. Knighton has parking in front of the property for up to 6 cars and there is free EV charging for guests.

Whether you want to unwind by the water or enjoy the estate's excellent facilities, Knighton is the perfect Dorset escape. You can venture off site and visit the historic city of Dorchester famous for Thomas Hardy's birthplace, hike the South West coast path, visit Portland Bill lighthouse or enjoy hunting for fossils in some of the Jurassic Coast coves. There are plenty of beaches within a few miles of Knighton including the safe and shallow Weymouth beach, the natural pebble beach at Ringstead Bay, the infamous and highly photographed Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove, or the dramatic Chesil beach near Portland.

Need to Know

This property is self catering. Guests are provided with a complimentary welcome hamper of local Dorset produce, a kitchen pack with cleaning cloths and basic supplies, and a toiletries pack per bathroom/cloakroom.
Quality bed linens are provided for all beds other than cots. Guests can enjoy high quality 100% cotton, 200 thread count bed linens and luxury bath/hand towels. Beach towels are not provided.

This property has a fixed camera installed on the decking and a ring door bell, both of which will be deactivated during any guest stays.

A travel cot and a highchair is available at this property. Please advise at time of booking if you require these to be made available for your stay. Bed linen is not provided for the travel cot; guests are requested to bring a mattress and cot bedding.

Bookings for Knighton are subject to a £350 refundable security deposit.

This property is non smoking and does not accept pets.

Silverlake is a private estate, with regulations that guests need to be aware of and adhere to, including:
  • Feeding wildlife or wildfowl is prohibited
  • Parking is only allowed in the designated spaces for your property, or in the overflow car parks provided
  • Silverlake operates a quiet time between 11pm and 8am.
  • No stag or hen parties are allowed
  • No contractor bookings where guests will be commuting to and from work are allowed
  • Guests are asked to use buoyancy aids when undertaking any water activities on site and wear helmets when cycling around the estate
  • Dogs must be kept on leads other than in the designated dog walking areas
  • Silverlake recommends that guests do not swim in open water unsupervised
  • All activities undertaken at Silverlake are at the guests' own risk
Check in is at 4pm on arrival day during the months April - October inclusive.  3pm on arrival day November - March inclusive.  
Check out is 10am on departure day.
Early check ins and and late check outs may be accommodated at an additional cost if bookings are not back-to-back.  Please contact us to enquire in advance of booking these extras.
Early check in's are from 2pm.  Late checkouts are 12pm.

Knighton is situated on the private Silverlake Estate, near Dorchester in Dorset. Silverlake is an eco nature reserve with acres of natural land to explore, an abundance of wildlife and surrounded by freshwater lakes for swimming and water-sports.
The nearest Co-Op is in Crossways, approximately 5 minutes drive from the property or 30 minutes walking and the closest large supermarket is in Tesco's superstore in Dorchester (16 minutes drive)
The nearest pub is The Frampton Arms which is approximately 7 minutes by car or taxi, or 45 minutes on foot.
Dorchester town centre is 12 minutes by car
Weymouth town, esplanade and main beach is 20 minutes by car.
Nearest rail station is Moreton - 7 minutes by car.
Golf courses include Weymouth Golf Club, Came Down Golf Club and West Dorset Golf and Country Club
