Burton Bradstock is one of West Dorset’s most picturesque coastal villages, known for its charming cottages, rolling countryside and stunning Jurassic Coast scenery. Located between Bridport and Abbotsbury, the village is best known for Hive Beach, dramatic cliff walks and its relaxed coastal setting.
Perfect for couples, families and walking holidays, Burton Bradstock offers easy access to the South West Coast Path, nearby West Bay harbour and some of Dorset’s most beautiful beaches. The area combines traditional village charm with coastal adventure, making it one of the most desirable places to visit along the Jurassic Coast. Nearby locations include West Bay, Bridport, Seatown, Abbotsbury and Lyme Regis, all within easy reach for days out along the coast and countryside.
Although we don’t currently have properties located in Burton Bradstock, it’s easy and accessible to visit from Silverlake Estate as well as our Weymouth and Dorchester cottages. It’s a place we know and we are looking to expand there soon.

Absolutely. For a village of its size, Burton Bradstock has some excellent places to eat. Our personal favourites are Hive Beach Café, which enjoys spectacular views over the Jurassic Coast, and the Three Horseshoes in the heart of the village, which is renowned for its welcoming atmosphere and excellent food. There are also several other pubs, cafés and restaurants nearby, including a few that are still on our list to try!

Burton Bradstock is best known for Hive Beach, dramatic Jurassic Coast cliffs, coastal walks and its picturesque Dorset village setting.
Dogs are allowed on Hive Beach throughout much of the year, although some seasonal restrictions may apply during peak summer months. With the South West Coast Path and miles of beautiful coastline nearby, it’s also a lovely area to explore with your dog and one we regularly recommend to guests staying in our dog-friendly cottages in Dorset.
Popular activities include visiting Hive Beach, exploring the Jurassic Coast, walking the South West Coast Path, dining at local pubs and cafés, and visiting nearby West Bay and Bridport. And on Hive beach itself, paddle boards are available for hire, in the summer months.
Burton Bradstock is approximately 3 miles from Bridport, with a driving time of around 10 minutes. The same as nearby West Bay.
