Jurassic is a stunning, beautifully furnished Dorset holiday home for 8 guests that offers access to an on-site outdoor heated pool, spa and gym. Set within the exclusive Silverlake Estate, and surrounded by nature and freshwater lakes, Jurassic has been designed for both inside and outside living. Simply relax on the large balcony, cosy up by the fire, take part in water sports on the lake, cycle the nature trails or venture out to explore the Jurassic Coast and many Dorset attractions.

Jurassic, named after the famous Dorset coast, is a fabulous contemporary property situated on an elevated position within Silverlake, that can accommodate up to eight guests in four bedrooms. The upside-down living accommodation has been designed so that guests best experience the wonderful views over lakes and countryside from the expansive open-plan kitchen/dining/living area. A large balcony accessed from the living area provides a perfect viewpoint from which guests can enjoy alfresco meals at the outdoor table or relax with a book and a drink on the comfortable lounge chairs.

On the ground floor are four bedrooms – one master king size bedroom with an en-suite shower room and access to the ground floor decking and garden, a super king ‘zip and link’ bedroom that can be set up as twin beds if required, a further king size bedroom and a bunk bedroom. Completing the ground floor is a family bathroom with shower over bath.

Upstairs is the spacious open plan kitchen, living and dining room with two sets of sliding patio doors leading to the large balcony and providing stunning views over the lakes and countryside beyond. The kitchen is equipped with all mod cons including a combi microwave oven, main oven, induction hob, dishwasher and Nespresso coffee machine. There is island seating for 4 guests and a large dining table that seats eight guests comfortably. The living area includes a smart TV, log burner for cosy nights in and plenty of lounge seating. The owners have also provided a selection of games for guests to enjoy. Also on this floor is a combined cloakroom/utility room that includes a washer/dryer.

Outside on the balcony is a large dining table with benches, together with a comfortable seating set and a coffee table while on the ground floor deck there is further lounge seating and a charcoal BBQ available for guest use.

Jurassic has parking for two cars and an EV car charging point that is free for guests to use.

Situated within the Silverlake Estate, there's plenty to keep you entertained at Jurassic whether you want to stay on site or adventure further afield. You can take advantage of the cycle trails, nature trails, swimming in the outdoor pool or in the lakes, or be more adventurous and tackle paddleboarding or kayaking - all on site. If you feel like exploring the broader Dorset area, you can easily visit the historic city of Dorchester famous for Thomas Hardy's birthplace, hike the South West coast path, visit Portland Bill lighthouse or enjoy hunting for fossils in some of the Jurassic Coast coves. There are many beaches within a few miles of Jurassic including the safe and shallow Weymouth beach, the natural pebble beach at Ringstead Bay, the dramatic scenery of Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove, or the expansive Chesil beach near Portland.

Need to Know

This property is self-catering. Guests are provided with a complimentary welcome hamper of local Dorset produce, a kitchen pack with cleaning cloths and basic supplies, and a toiletries pack per bathroom/cloakroom.
Quality bed linens are provided for all beds other than cots. Guests can enjoy high quality 100% cotton, 200 thread count bed linens and luxury bath/hand towels. Beach towels are not provided.

This property has a fixed camera installed on the decking and a ring doorbell, both of which will be deactivated during any guest stays.

A travel cot and a highchair is available at this property. Please advise at time of booking if you require these to be made available for your stay. Bed linen is not provided for the travel cot; guests are requested to bring a mattress and cot bedding.

Bookings for Jurassic are subject to a £350 refundable security deposit.

This property is non-smoking and does not accept pets.

Silverlake is a private estate, with regulations that guests need to be aware of and adhere to, including:
  • Feeding wildlife or wildfowl is prohibited
  • Parking is only allowed in the designated spaces for your property, or in the overflow car parks provided
  • Silverlake operates a quiet time between 11pm and 8am.
  • No stag or hen parties are allowed
  • No contractor bookings where guests will be commuting to and from work are allowed
  • Guests are asked to use buoyancy aids when undertaking any water activities on site and wear helmets when cycling around the estate
  • Dogs must be kept on leads other than in the designated dog walking areas
  • Silverlake recommends that guests do not swim in open water unsupervised
  • All activities undertaken at Silverlake are at the guests' own risk
Check in is at 4pm on arrival day during the months April - October inclusive.  3pm on arrival day November - March inclusive.  
Check out is 10am on departure day.
Early check ins and and late check outs may be accommodated at an additional cost if bookings are not back-to-back.  Please contact us to enquire prior to booking these extras.
Early check in is from 2pm.  Late checkouts are 12pm.

Jurassic is situated on the private Silverlake Estate, near Dorchester in Dorset, in easy reach of the Jurassic coast. Silverlake is an eco nature reserve with acres of natural land to explore, an abundance of wildlife and freshwater lakes for swimming and water-sports.
  • The nearest Co-Op is in Crossways, approximately 5 minutes drive from the property or 30 minutes walking and the closest large supermarket is in Tesco's superstore in Dorchester (16 minutes drive)
  • The nearest pub is The Frampton Arms which is approximately 7 minutes by car or taxi, or 45 minutes on foot.
  • Dorchester town centre is 12 minutes by car
  • Weymouth town, esplanade and main beach is 20 minutes by car.
  • Nearest rail station is Moreton - 7 minutes by car.
  • Golf courses include Weymouth Golf Club, Came Down Golf Club and West Dorset Golf and Country Club
