Situated on the luxury Silverlake Estate, guests can enjoy an on-site outdoor heated pool, spa, restaurant and other facilities. This home is the only property at Silverlake that has been designed to accommodate significant accessibility requirements.

The Lake House is ideal for guests looking for spacious, chic, open plan living combined with a stunning lakeside location. The property boasts fabulous views across the lake from all rooms, and the multiple balconies and large outdoor decking mean the house is perfect for enjoying life al fresco. Situated on The Knoll, within the Shepperds View village at Silverlake, The Lake House is ideally placed for easy access to the recently opened Firefly pool, spa and restaurant.

The house has been designed to allow those with physical accessibility requirements to enjoy an unforgettable holiday. There is a lift for access to the first floor, the doorways are wide to accommodate a wheelchair, and two bedrooms have been specifically designed with accessible en-suite wet rooms, adaptable beds and specialist hoist equipment that can be utilised if required. *An accessibility statement prepared by the owner is available. The homeowner has taken huge care to ensure this house, whilst offering maximum accessibility and including up to the minute accessible equipment, remains elegant, welcoming and appealing for all guests.

The spacious open plan kitchen/dining/living room includes everything you could need for a comfortable, home-from-home holiday and the floor-to-ceiling sliding patio doors that span the entire room offer unrivalled views across the decking and lawned garden to the private jetty and lake beyond.

The living area offers comfortable seating for up to 10 guests, a smart TV with anti reflective screen and an electric log burner for enjoying cosy nights in. The dining table seats up to 10 and there is additional seating at the kitchen island for 3 guests.
The kitchen offers every modern convenience needed for cooking up a feast including an induction hob, integrated microwave/combination oven, integrated main oven, warming drawers, extra-large fridge, under-counter freezer, dishwasher, and a Nespresso compatible coffee machine.

A separate snug room with two walls of sliding doors and incredible views over the lake provides an additional private space for watching TV, relaxing with a book or playing board games. There is comfortable seating for up to six guests on two sofas and a large screen anti-reflective TV.
Also on the ground floor is a separate cloakroom and a utility room with washer/dryer and an additional large fridge/freezer.

Upstairs there are five bedrooms all en-suite, with access to an outdoor balcony and featuring automatic blinds. The master bedroom has a super-king size bed, large fitted wardrobes and chest of drawers, an en-suite bathroom with separate bath and shower and a private outdoor terrace where guests can sit and enjoy the breathtaking views. The second bedroom has a king size bed, fitted wardrobes, an en-suite shower room and a balcony offering views over the lake to the front. The fifth bedroom has a zip & link super king size bed that can be arranged as two singles if required. This bedroom has a balcony to the rear and a bathroom with shower over. The layout of the third bedroom means the en-suite bathroom can be used as a family bathroom or as an en-suite for the bedroom depending on guests' own requirements.

Bedrooms three and four are designed as accessible bedrooms each with one adjustable bed, hoist systems and accessible en-suite wet rooms. Each bedroom has a second bed that that can be stored upright if not required for a guest stay. The second beds in each room are made up as standard for guest stays; please advise at time of booking if you do not wish for the second beds to be made available. Both of these bedrooms have access to the balcony.

Outside to the rear there is a large deck spanning the length of the house, with an outdoor dining table that seats 10. Two large sofas, that can double up as sun loungers (with a lift-up headrest section), four chairs and coffee tables allow for plenty of relaxed seating and a large Weber gas BBQ is also available for guest use.
The garden is fully fenced in at the rear and there is a private jetty providing direct lake access for swimming or water-sports.

To the front is level access to the front door and parking for up to 5 cars. An EV charger is also available for guest use.

Two cots and two highchairs are available for guest use. Please advise at time of booking if you require these for your stay. Please note that cot mattresses and cot bedding are not supplied.

With a temporary Firefly membership included in the total booking price, guests can enjoy access to Silverlake's state-of-the-art Firefly heated outdoor pool, cold water plunge pool, sauna and spa (treatments are chargeable). Please note that booking of the Firefly pool is required. Bookings can be made one day in advance and allow guests access to the Firefly facility facilities anytime between 10am until 5.15pm. In addition guests can enjoy many other on site facilities including a tennis court, multi-activity court, nature trails, cycle trails, zip wire, children's play areas, outdoor table tennis, golf practice net and fishing, lake swimming and water-sports.
Bikes, paddle-boards and kayaks can be hired from the Activity Hub at Silverlake (in 2.5 hour slots). Bike Hire can also be arranged for the duration of your stay through Curated Cottages (delivered to The Lake House and collected after the hire period). E-bike tours, a private chef and yacht trips can also be arranged.

Need to Know

This property is self-catering. Guests are provided with a complimentary welcome hamper of local Dorset produce, a kitchen pack with cleaning cloths and basic supplies, an initial supply of toilet rolls and a toiletries pack per bathroom/cloakroom.
Quality bed linens are provided for all beds other than cots. Towels are also provided. Towels for use at the spa, the beach or outside the property are not provided and we ask that guests bring their own.

Use of the travel costs, high chairs, overhead hoist, closomat toilet (Bedroom 4 ensuite), electric beds and shower chair must be requested in advance to ensure the housekeeping team make the necessary preparations.

Please note that any guest unable to independently evacuate the house in an emergency including via the stairs must be identified at booking and a declaration made that there are at least two competent companions who will familiarise themselves with the fire escape procedures and assist that guest to evacuate using on-site evacuation equipment, if necessary

Bookings for The Lake House are subject to a £350 security deposit (card details retained).
Please note that all properties at Silverlake are privately owned and as such no items should be transferred from one property to another.
This property is non-smoking and vaping is not allowed inside. Candles are not permitted inside or outside in line with fire safety requirements.

Silverlake is a private estate, with regulations that guests need to be aware of and adhere to, including:
  • Feeding wildlife or wildfowl is prohibited
  • Parking is only allowed in the designated spaces for your property, or in the overflow car parks provided
  • Silverlake operates a quiet time between 11pm and 8am.
  • No stag or hen parties are allowed
  • No disposable BBQ's may be used on site
  • No contractor bookings where guests will be commuting to and from work are allowed
  • Guests are asked to use buoyancy aids when undertaking any water activities on site and wear helmets when cycling around the estate
  • Dogs must be kept on leads other than in the designated dog walking areas
  • Silverlake recommends that guests do not swim in open water unsupervised
  • All activities undertaken at Silverlake are at the guests' own risk
Check in is at 4pm on arrival day during the months April - October inclusive.  3pm on arrival day November - March inclusive.  
Check out is 10am on departure day.

Location

Silverlake is a privately owned nature reserve holiday home estate between Weymouth and Dorchester, in easy reach of the Jurassic Coast and its beaches and attractions. Silverlake has acres of natural land to explore, an abundance of wildlife and freshwater lakes for swimming and water-sports.

Although there is plenty to do at Silverlake, the area around is worth exploring. Consider visiting the historic city of Dorchester famous for Thomas Hardy's birthplace, hiking the South West coast path, visiting Portland Bill lighthouse or enjoying hunting for fossils in some of the Jurassic Coast coves. There are many beaches within a few miles of Silverlake, including the safe and shallow Weymouth beach, the natural pebble beach at Ringstead Bay, the dramatic scenery of Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove, or the expansive Chesil beach near Portland.
  • The nearest convenience stores are the Premier 21 Mount Skippet Way, Dorchester DT2 8TP or the Co-Op is in Crossways. Either are within 5 minutes drive from the property or 20-30 minutes walking. The closest large supermarket is Tesco's superstore in Dorchester (16 minutes drive)
  • The nearest pub is The Frampton Arms which is approximately 7 minutes by car or taxi, or 45 minutes on foot.
  • Dorchester town centre is 12 minutes by car
  • Weymouth town, esplanade and main beach is 20 minutes by car.
  • Nearest rail station is Moreton - 7 minutes by car.
  • Golf courses include Weymouth Golf Club, Came Down Golf Club and West Dorset Golf and Country Club
