Bulrushes

Bulrushes is a colourful cottage that sleeps 9 guests in four bedrooms and is in walking distance of a lake beach for swimming. Situated on the prestigious Silverlake Estate near Weymouth, this cottage is perfect for two families looking to holiday together or multi generational groups.
Close to the cottage are various children’s play areas, cycle trails and nature trails. Guests can also make use of the on-site heated outdoor swimming pool, cold water plunge pool, restaurant and luxury spa.

Bulrushes is the perfect escape for families or groups looking for a well appointed and comfortable holiday home from which to enjoy the many on-site leisure facilities at the Silverlake Estate or to explore the beaches and attractions of the Jurassic Coast.

A bright and airy open-plan ground floor is ideal for guests to gather and enjoy time together. Cosy up in front of the wood burner to watch TV, enjoy dinner or a board game at the large dining table or perch at the breakfast bar while the nominated chef prepares a meal in the well-equipped kitchen.

Ideal for Al-fresco dining and ‘inside/outside’ living, guests enjoy easy access through large patio doors from the living area to a deck with dining furniture, and the garden beyond.

The kitchen features everything you might need for a self-catering stay including an induction range cooker with two ovens, a tall fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and a Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine.

Also on the ground floor is a cloakroom with washer/dryer, iron, ironing board and vacuum cleaner.

Upstairs, there are four bedrooms and a family bathroom. The master bedroom benefits from a king size bed, fitted wardrobes, wall mounted TV and an en-suite shower room. Bedroom 2 is also a king size bedroom with fitted wardrobes and an en-suite shower room, while bedroom 3 is a triple bunk bedroom (double below and single bunk above) and bedroom 4 is a standard bunk bedroom. We recommend the top bunks are used by children only. The family bathroom includes a bath with shower over.

Outside there is a deck with dining furniture and a lawned garden. Guests also have access to the lockable boat shed in the garden for storage of equipment such as bikes, paddle boards or suitcases. A charcoal BBQ, stored in the boat store, is provided for guest use.

There is parking for up to 2 cars at Bulrushes; the spaces are at the rear of the property. Please note that the driveway to the parking area is shared with the cottage next door.

A travel cot, highchair and a baby bath are available for guest use. Please advise at time of booking if you require these to be made available for your stay.

Bikes, paddleboards and kayaks can be hired onsite for 2 hour sessions. Bike Hire can also be arranged for the duration of your stay through Curated Cottages (delivered to Bulrushes and collected after the hire period). E-bike tours, a private chef and yacht trips can also be arranged. If you fancy making use of the log burner during your stay, a fire pack including logs, kindling and firelighters can be supplied and for guests that will be barbequing, BBQ packs can also be supplied. These items do incur a minimal extra charge.

Guests can enjoy free access during 2026 to all the facilities at Silverlake, including outdoor heated pool (sessions need to be booked), spa (treatments are chargeable), restaurant, lake beach with pontoon, children’s play areas, cycle trails, the activity hub for bike hire and watersports equipment hire (2 hour bookable hire sessions), nature trails, table tennis tables, tennis court, multi-use activity court, fishing lakes and the zip wire. From 2027 there may be a charge for use of the pool and spa facilities. A new state-of-the-art on-site gym is planned to open in 2027. Bike hire and watersports equipment hire is also available separately through Curated Cottages for the duration of your stay.
